All companies engaged in transport plans and road safety to reduce traffic accidents during working hours or otherwise travel on journeys from home to work, will be able to greatly reduce their Social Security contributions.
Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, has said that after signing the agreement at the headquarters of the DGT, in 2009, last date for which there are figures, there were 70,000 accidents caused by traffic accidents, a 192 per day, of which no less than 283 were fatal. That is why the minister said that “if we improve road safety, improve safety at work.”
On the other hand, the Minister of Labour, Valeriano Gomez, explained that in addition to this plan to reduce contributions, the department has provided pursue, between 2010 and 2011, some 400 inspections of work in order to have direct data on how each of the companies manage risk in all respects to road safety of their employees.
